🌱 Thank You, Volunteers!

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
 because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
-Luke 4:18-19

Dear Friends,

God is wonderfully at work, more concerned with the freedom of every individual human heart than any of us could ever be.

Last weekend, we were blessed by a team of volunteers from 24 Church in Pleasant View, TN! Their willing hearts and hands helped move the work of Rahab House forward:

Painting

Pressure Washing

Crawlspace Clean Up and Vapor Proofing

Mowing and Lawn Cleaning

Thank you so much, friends!
It is a joy to see what God accomplishes when hearts say "yes" and hands treat work as work unto HIM.

Prayer

Prayer works. In a way that surpasses explanation, prayer makes real and meaningful changes in the world and in the hearts around us, when we surrender them to our Father.
But prayer also refines us, our definitions, our motivations, and our hearts.

Please pray for Rahab House, for the women we currently serve, and for those God is already preparing to send to us in the future.
Let the Father use these moments of prayer to open your eyes, sharpen your heart, and guide you to bring the light of Christ into the darkness of trafficking in our world.

Mowing

Rahab House now has its own zero-turn mower, and plenty of people who love to use it!
But if you'd like to spend some quiet time cutting the grass and praying over the land God has gifted the ministry, we are welcoming volunteers for this simple but powerful act of service.

  • To protect the house and and women, there will be brief training before your first visit to the house.

  • We hope to build a schedule, so you’ll know well in advanced before your turn comes.

Hit reply and tell us what we should name the mower. (Looks like a “Samson” to me)

In-House Visitors

Are you a woman with a gift to share with the sisters of Rahab House?

We are committed to the safety and growth of every woman in our care.
During their stay, trusted female volunteers are invited to offer:

  • Shared meals

  • Painting or crafts

  • Movie nights

  • Gardening time

  • Prayer meetings

  • Other Spirit-led encouragements

If God has put something on your heart, there’s a place for it here.
Reply to this email if you’d like to be added to the list of in-house visitors once refuge operations begin.

Financial Giving

Furnishing the House: How You Can Help

We’ve started an Amazon shopping list for those who would like to directly purchase items for the house.

We're excited to share that Emily Pitney has been entrusted to curate and acquire furnishings for Rahab House. Emily’s goal is to create a warm, intentional, home-like atmosphere through carefully selected purchases, donations, and thrifted finds.

What to know about donating:

  • We are gratefully accepting some furniture donations.

  • We’re looking for unique, cottage-core/vintage style pieces like end tables, dining chairs, and small tables.

  • Please send pictures first so we can be sure it fits the style and space! ([email protected])

  • If we can’t accept an item, it’s simply because we’re creating a cohesive home. Not because we don’t value your generosity.

Thank you for helping make this house a refuge of peace and beauty for every woman who enters.

Monthly Donations

Please prayerfully consider setting up a monthly donation today.

Rahab House has never been without. God has always met our needs , precisely, perfectly, faithfully.
But as we approach Day 1 of full refuge operations, knowing what provision to expect in the months ahead will allow us to make stable, wise, and well-stewarded plans for the good of each woman , and the glory of Christ our King.

We’re so grateful for each of you.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early
 and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.
-Psalm 127: 1-2

Father, You are good and goodness.
Build the house.
Build our hearts.
Protect us from toil, anxiety, and doubt.
Bless us with the easy yoke of obeying a good, good Father.
Turn our eyes and our hearts to Christ, who bore all for all,
and commands us to invite all creation to see the Cross
and know perfect, true freedom.
Send your Holy Spirit to speak sweetly to the hearts of women still captive.
Call them from the tomb into Your glorious light and Life.

Amen.
